Why do I have to pay a registration fee?

Quite simply, so the Fringe can take place!

  • Shaftesbury Fringe is a not for profit company

  • It has no external income, so is funded solely by a combination of sponsor and registration fees

  • It is run entirely by a team of 9 or 10 unpaid volunteers, with 40 or so more drafted in over the weekend

The money collected pays for the following
  • Fringe infrastructure

    1. Road closure and its marshalling

    2. All signage, including building our Fringebury Towers for displaying artist posters around the town.

    3. Town decoration, banners, flags etc.

    4. Toilets and bins on Park Walk

    5. PRS and licence for Park Walk

  • Insurance
  • Organising venues and connecting performers with spaces.
  • Production of the printed programme, app, website, social posts and IT facilities for the team.
  • Supporting and promoting the venues and performers.

Your registration fee doesn’t go into anyone’s pocket – it goes straight back into making Shaftesbury Fringe happen for Shaftesbury.
